Kareena Kapoor has decided to tone down her Diwali celebrations this year. Reason-the recent demise of her granduncle Shammi Kapoor and beau Saif's father Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi.

While shooting a special Diwali sequence for a channel recently, Bebo refused to wear a heavily embellished red saree. When she was shown the costume by her designer, the actress politely refused the gawdy ensemble.

"Kareena said it would look really bad on her part if she dolls up for a public event in the light of the recent events," a source said. So, she asked the designer to redesign her dress for the show, and tone down the colours to the extent that they look sober.

Kareena's appearance on the show-Diwali Rishton Ki Mithas-is part of the Ra.One promotion grind. The actress will also be joined by co-star Shah Rukh Khan for the performance. The two will then shake a leg on the chart-buster Chhammak Chhallo from their film, with a host of TV actors.
