Amitabh Bachchan, the legendary actor of bollywood who played the character of a twelve- year- progeric child Auro in Balki’s iconic flick ‘Paa’, won the best actor award in the Readers’ choice category at the seventh Stardust Awards function held at MMRDA grounds, Bandra- Kurla complex, Mumbai.
Kareena Kapoor, the sizzling hot babe of bollywood who had given a rocking performance opposite Saif Ali Khan in ‘Kurbaan’ and with Aamir Khan in ‘3 Idiots’, was the choice for the best actress in the same category.
Abhishek Bachchan, who played the character of Amitabh Bachchan’s father in Balki’s ‘Paa’ opposite Vidya Balan, also won an award for supporting actor for the same film. Kareena Kapoor’s flick ‘3 Idiots’ was adjudged the best film of the year in the same category.
However, the highlight of the evening was high voltage rocking performance by Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan on the stage. In fact, it was for the first time that the lovebirds were performing together on stage for any function. Though it was a glittering affair with all bollywood biggies attending the function, but the absence of Shah Rukh Khan was sorely felt.
Though Shah Rukh Khan was not present at the Stardust awards but his best buddy and ace director Farah Khan was seen hobnobbing with Khiladi Kumar at the function. In fact, Farah, Akshay Kumar and Sajid Nadiadwala were seen joking and laughing together for almost whole of the function.
Shahid Kapur, who won the best actor award (Editor’s choice) at the Stardust awards function for his rocking performance in Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Kaminey’ was seen sharing laughs with sizzling hot Lara Dutta.
Asin, the heartthrob of Aamir Khan’s ‘Ghajini’ and Salman Khan’s ‘London Dreams’ was seen busy with her new friend Celina Jaitley. Perhaps the gorgeous ladies were exchanging notes about Celina’s new show about transgenders.
We can not forget Ranbir Kapoor, the handsome hunk of Kapoor clan, who walked away with ‘Super star of tomorrow’ award for his super duper hit flicks ‘Wake Up Sid’ and ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghajab Kahani’.
Mughdha Godse won the same award in female category for her superb performance in Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Jail’.
