After the success of Boney Kapoor’s Wanted, his other film Milenge Milenge starring former couple Shahid Kapur and Kareena Kapoor, will finally see the light of day as the first promo of the film is out.

Kareena plays a girl who dreams about marrying an ideal, well-behaved boy while Shahid is the complete opposite of the man of her dreams. Yet they fall in love and whether their love story works out forms the rest of the story.

Audiences will be delighted to see Kareena much fuller than she is now and baby faced Shahid Kapoor. The film features music by Himesh Reshammiya. He composed for this film much before he became a musical phenomenon and an actor. Shahid Kapoor will be seen smoking in the film. He started puffing for this film and has found it difficult to kick the habit ever since. The film, directed by Satish Kaushik and produced by Boney Kapoor, was shot when Shahid was dating Kareena. It was canned a couple of years ago because the couple separated. The makers wanted to release it soon after Jab We Met to cash in on the success of the film but it didn’t happen as Shahid and Kareena hadn’t dubbed for the film. Now both of them have finished dubbing for the film separately. The cast and crew had begun filming in 2004 in New Delhi and Dubai. It was supposed to release on December 23, 2005 but did not due to technical and financial problems. A February 15, 2008 release was also planned but it got delayed further.


Milenge Milenge is a remake of John Cusack-Kate Beckinsale starrer Serendipity which released in 2001. Some scenes like ‘meeting on a randomly picked floor’, signing the name and number in a book, looking for her name and address in the records of a departmental store and finally meeting in stadium have been directly lifted from the original. In Serendipity, Kate leaves her fiancé before marriage and meets John in a skating ring. In Milenge Milenge, it is more dramatic as Kareena runs away from her own wedding to be with Shahid. Even one dialogue ‘Fate wants us to be together now’ has been translated to ‘I am sure, mujhe pura yakeen hai ki taqdeer hi humko milana chahti hai Priya.’

In an earlier interview, Shahid had said that the release date of the film is for the producers to decide as he had finished dubbing for the film. It will be Shahid and Kareena’s last film together.
