The multiplex vs producers and exhibitors strike has not just affected the movie business but now is also affecting other departments. Producer Sajid Nadiad-wala, and his Kambakkht Ishq lead pair Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor will no longer be part of nor walk the red carpet at the 62nd Cannes Film Festival (May 13-24).
There's no point Informs Sajid, "Because of the strike and embargo thereof on new releases in multiplexes, we are not allowed to screen any trailers anywhere or release audio cassettes of new releases. For Cannes, we needed to be there for the worldwide coverage of our trailers — which would also be aired on Indian TV channels. But now, we can't release trailers of upcoming releases, so there's no point in going to Cannes."
